Fixing UB Error Codes

1:53

If a UB error code appears on a washer, it indicates that the laundry load has become unbalanced. The first thing to check is the distribution of the laundry. Most often, the load has shifted to one side of the tub, most common in top loading washers. In the rare cases of a front loading washer experiencing a UB error, typically the tub is overloaded, or there are one or two heavy items in with the load that are causing the balance issues. Reduce the size of the load or use a couple more heavy items to redistribute the weight. If the error persists, be sure the washer is level. To do this, just rotate the leveling legs until the machine doesn't wobble, and run the washer's calibration mode. As a last resort, you can also check the drain filter on front loading washers to ensure the water is draining out properly and not causing a weight issue. If after all this, you're still seeing issues, it may be time for service.
