Use Maintenance Mode to keep your data private during repairs

1:30

Sometimes, you have to give your device to a third party for repairs. If that happens, there’s no need to worry about privacy! Use Maintenance Mode to hide your photos, apps, and personal data. First, go to Settings, and then tap Accounts and Backup to back up your data to Samsung Cloud or Smart Switch. Next, tap Battery and device care, and then scroll to and tap Maintenance Mode. You’ll set up a PIN, Password, or Pattern for security when enabling this feature for the first time. Tap Turn on, and then Restart to enter Maintenance Mode. You can choose whether to create a log to analyze problems should they arise. To exit, navigate back to Maintenance Mode in settings, tap Exit, and then tap Restart. Confirm your identity with your PIN or fingerprint, and then your phone will restart and display all of your apps just as you had them!
