How to set up a Samsung TV using a mobile device

Setting up your Samsung TV for the first time can be done via the remote or your phone! Using your phone is a much faster process because the phone will automatically sync information such as your wi-fi network and Samsung account to the new TV. You'll need to use the SmartThings app, which comes pre-installed on Galaxy phones, but is also available on the Google Play store for any Android device, and the App Store on iOS devices. Once the app is installed and you're logged in with your Samsung account, all you need to do is ensure that your phone is connected to the wi-fi network you want your TV to use. When you power on the TV for the first time, just be sure to select Smartphone from the setup choice screen that will appear, and simply scan the QR code with your phone camera and follow the instructions. You'll be able to use your phone as a TV remote when you're done!
