Delete old messages to free up storage on your Galaxy phone

A quick and easy way to save space is to set your phone to automatically delete old text messages. In the Messages app, tap More options, Settings, and then tap More settings. From here, tap the switch next to Delete old messages. Your phone will now purge oldest messages to make room for new ones after you reach 1000 texts, 100 multimedia messages, or 5000 chats.
