How to replace the door gasket on your refrigerator
3:16
If you notice condensation around the doors or inside of your refrigerator, see frost in the freezer, or notice that your refrigerator isn’t cooling well, you might need to replace the door gasket. You may even find that the gaskets are physically damaged. Inspect the door gasket for any damage and make sure the door is sealing properly. You can easily check the door seal by placing a dollar bill in the door, closing it, and then pulling on the dollar bill. If you’re able to pull it out easily, then you’ll need to replace the gasket. Be sure to purchase and use a genuine Samsung replacement part for your fridge. To remove the old gasket, simply pull it off. If you are replacing the left side door gasket, you will need to remove the door heater assembly first. To install the new gasket, first make sure the grooves of the gasket are facing the inside of the door. If you’re replacing the right side door gasket, just make sure the flap is at the top of the door, and then firmly press the gasket into the groove as you make your way around the door. Don’t forget to re-install the door heater if you replaced the left side door gasket!
